The FRI Graduate Student Paper Prize is awarded to an original paper written by a University of New Mexico graduate student who is working toward an MA, PhD, or professional degree.The author of the prize-winning paper will receive a $300 award. The recipient will give a public reading of the paper in the Fall semester, or whenever is most convenient for presenter and FRI.

Essays will be judged on the use of Feminist, Queer, Critical Race, or Critical Indigenous approach to analyze topics related to gender or sexuality; the quality and clarity of writing; originality; and effective use of primary source material where applicable.
